The organizers of the Upstream and Downstream Exhibition and Conference, annually organized to bring key players in oil and gas sector around the world to synergize on policies, technologies and innovations has dedicated the upcoming 2017 edition for the Nigerian Content technological advancement.


In a press statement signed by Dr. Kune Nimi Igoni, the Director of Event and Chief Executive Officer, the organizers noted that, the 2017 edition, scheduled for August 30th to 31st, 2017 as the date for its 7th edition, holding at the NICON Luxury, Abuja, due to the multiplicity of conference halls for the various segments, as well as a large Exhibition park at the venue.


According to him, this year’s U & D Expo comes with the theme “Nigerian Content with Technological Advancement”, stating that the event continues to be the largest indigenous and most-established oil and gas event in West Africa, gathering technical experts, industry leaders, thinkers, investors and Government policy makers to discus global industry trends, issues and new technologies, as well as present an opportunity for our great country and the sub-region to showcase its strength and opportunities in achieving growth. ‘’We have confident in ourselves and the Nigerian spirit of hard work. In addition, in response to the increasing popularity of our industry Excellence Awards, this year’s event will recognize industry players in 10 categories’’, Igoni said.


Dr. Igoni disclosed that topics lined up for discussion this year, includes Modular Refineries Technologies, Drilling Rigs Enhancement, LNG Market development, Pipeline Engineering, Gas to Power, Oil Recovery Intervention Modules and Oil and Gas Financing and Insurance.


The Director of Event thanked industry players for the successful hosting  of the past editions of this event, adding that the U & D Expo and Conference has continued to receive commendations from oil and gas companies, high government personnel and diplomatic missions, with endorsements by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) , Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), South Korean Consulate, Nigeria, Royal Dutch Embassy, Nigeria, Nigeria Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other major industry Players and Stakeholders.


The Upstream and Downstream Exhibition and Conference is targeted at all key players in oil and gas sector around the world to synergies on policies, technologies and innovations and with the keen interest  already shown by world business and political leaders to participate as Special Resource Persons, this year’s event promises to be a very successful outing.


Dr. Igoni therefore called on prospective participants including exhibitors and delegates to avail themselves of the veritable platform that the event presents and participate for the growth of their business in the industry.
