The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has raised the nation’s grid capacity by 330MVA, with the installation of four transformers in Kaduna State.

The transformers include a 150MVA unit in Mando substation, 60MVA unit in Zaria substation and two units of 60MVA in Kakuri substation. With the commissioning of the four transformers, TCN said it makes it 13 transformers the company has commissioned in the past three months.

A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah said the Zaria 60MVA transformer was commissioned by the Minister of Power, works and Housing last Sunday while the others were commissioned on Monday.
