For electricity consumers in the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) zone, the bad old days of outrageous estimated billings as a result of nonavailability of metres will soon be a thing of the past as the company has placed the order for about 175,000 metres.

Besides, over 35,000 meters are presently in its warehouse, awaiting supply to the consumers in Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ekiti states, according to the Managing Director, Mrs Funke Osibodu.

Mrs Osibodu who spoke in Benin at the weekend at a media parley said that based on the recent publication by the National Bureau of Statistics, BEDC was adjudged to have the highest number of metres among all the Distribution Companies(DISCOs) in the country.
