Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC), Mallam Kele Kyari has said that the Corporation is focused on expanding the domestic gas footprints in the country to support the nation’s gas-to-power aspirations and industrialisation.

Speaking at the ongoing third edition of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, Kyari said that NNPC Group is adding 1.1bcf additional capacity to Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System through the ELPS II Project.

Stating that the connection of gas from East-West through OB3 was nearing completion, the NNPC boss also noted that the extension of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) would commence soon.

Speaking further, Kyari said NNPC Group is working with technical partners to revamp its refineries in Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Warri. He said, “We have completed Phase one and advancing Phase two of PHRC while working vigorously on WRPC and KRPC Phase one revamp projects.

“We are, more than ever before, committed to working with stakeholders to increase our crude oil production from 2.3 million bbl per day to 3 million bbl per day.

“We are equally committed to achieving the 40bn bbl national oil reserve target. Our recent successes in inland basin exploration in the Gongola basin & the amendment of Deep Offshore Act will improve fiscal stability and investor confidence

“NNPC Group is more than ever committed to improving Transparency, Accountability and Performance Excellence (TAPE). We are expanding our operational footprints to move NNPC from a company of global impact to a company of global presence.

“I assure all of you here that NNPC Group will continue to work with partners to deliver value to the over 200 million Nigerians and other stakeholders,” Kyari said.
