Marine, oil & gas and logistics proves a key combination at day two of Clever Cape Industries three-day expo
The new owner of Clever Cape Industries Showcase 2016 (CIS) says it pleased with the response of exhibitors and visitors at one of the city’s smartest shows with attendance up during the first two days.
“It has been a great couple of days and we’re genuinely pleased with the response from exhibitors to the people who have visited – and we’re all looking forward to tomorrow,” said Brad Hook, organiser dmg-ems Africa’s Commercial Director.

The three-day expo brings together national and international exhibitors representing almost 80 businesses to Cape Town – one of the most important locations in Africa for transport, oil and maritime.
Emscor provides medical services, from occupational to emergency, and attended CIS 2016 to focus on its oil & gas business. Jonathan Curtis, Emscor’s Group Commercial Manager, said: “I have closed two deals on the show that will ensure me returning next year and many more to come.
The right people are visiting and it’s great to have the decision makers all together in one place. The first two days at the show I have met and engaged with the right people, it has led to positive and solid leads for right across my scope of the group at large.”

Analysers Online provides monitoring solutions to meet environmental goals to the oil & gas sector. Helena Davy, Product Manager, said: “We are at the show to meet and engage with key role players in the market. This show has proved successful for us. This was our first expo in Cape Town and we would come again next time. Thank you for a great expo.”
“The visitor response has been fruitful – subsequently we have also found that the right decision makers and marine superintendents have come to visit the stand,” said Keith Williamson at the Centri Services stand. The South African company is specialist in centrifuges and separators offer maintenance and repair of the units for the sector.
The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries used CIS 2016 to help visitors understand its work. Last night a spokesman said it had been a good two days and everyone on the stand was looking forward to the third: “Visitors are pleased that DAFF is here gaining great insight into how we operate.”

And Sean Meredith of Kanon Loading Equipment said CIS had taken a step forward this year. He said: “I’m very impressed with the turnout this year, compared to the past. Great to see key players coming out and taking an interest in the future of the South African Oil & Gas market.”
New for this year is The OGP Summit 2016, a three-day conference introduced in line with owner dmg’s policy worldwide, and that too has found strong support. Each seminar is eligible for CPD credits and certification for delegates increasing the career value of attendance.
Richard Vallihu, Chief Executive of Transnet National Ports Authority spoke on day two about Providing efficient port infrastructure and maritime services.
“We have had great speakers taking the delegates through innovative thinking and training in this market, and also focus on logistics and port infrastructures,” said Brad Hook. “I would like to thank them all.”

The third and final day of the summit will focus on technical sessions with seminars on preventive maintenance and simpler x-ray diffraction for the oil exploration industry through to safety of pressurized equipment and automation on off-shore rigs.
